News & Spotlights | November 9, 2018

Lindsay Gorman ’16 has received the Virginia Public Service Scholarship, a full-tuition award given to University of Virginia School of Law students who are pursuing public service careers. Lindsay is one of two students to receive the award this year. The recipients are chosen based on their academic excellence, potential for leadership, and commitment to practicing as public service attorneys immediately after graduation.

“My experiences as a Morehead-Cain Scholar undoubtedly helped build the foundation for my public service career, and I’m continually thankful for the support I’ve received from the Morehead-Cain family,” Lindsay said.

“My experience working alongside policymakers in federal government has shown me the immense impact public service attorneys can have on Americans’ lives, and the dedication needed to bring about effective public policy. I am extremely grateful for the support of the Virginia Public Service Scholarship as I seek to advance social and economic justice through federal government practice. UVA Law, with its demonstrated history of academic excellence and fostering leadership in its students, provides an ideal setting from which to launch my career as a public service attorney.”
