Nominating Schools and Programs

Students in Canada, in the United Kingdom, or outside of North Carolina must attend a nominating school or affiliate program to be considered for the Morehead-Cain.

By Location

North Carolina

Students in North Carolina are eligible to enter the selection process via nomination by their school, affiliate program, or self-nomination.

Out-of-State

Students in the United States attending a nominating school or affiliate program are eligible to apply if nominated by their school or affiliate program.

Canada

Students in Canada attending a nominating school or affiliate program are eligible to apply if nominated by their school or affiliate program.

United Kingdom

Students in the United Kingdom attending a nominating school or affiliate program are eligible to apply if nominated by their school or affiliate program.

International

International students attending a nominating school or affiliate program are eligible to apply if nominated by their school or affiliate program.

Other Ways to Enter the Program

UNC Sophomore Selection

The Morehead-Cain Sophomore Selection process aims to identify twelve to fifteen current sophomores at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and extend an invitation for them to join the Morehead-Cain Program.

Admissions Referral Program

Students outside of North Carolina who are not attending a nominating school or participating in an affiliate program may be eligible for nomination through the Admissions Referral Program.
