During her four years at Carolina, she spent much of her time writing across four different publications, beginning at The Daily Tar Heel and wrapping up with an internship at one of the nation’s pioneering nonprofit newsrooms in Wyoming. At Carolina, she served for two years as an expedition staffer for Carolina Outing Club and as Chi Omega Epsilon Beta’s first diversity, equity, and inclusion chair. With a global studies lens focused on immigration, she worked as a citizenship tutor in Chapel Hill and contributed to research mapping the entrepreneurship of Berlin’s Turkish immigrant population during a semester abroad in the city.
