Immediate Plans

To continue working as an EMT and doula while applying to PA (physician assistant) school.

Kayris earned a BA with highest distinction in medical anthropology, with a minor in biology. For the majority of her time at Carolina, she assisted in biological and behavioral research as part of the Reissner Lab within the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience. She also served on the Undergraduate Honor Court. Since becoming a licensed Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in 2022, Kayris participated in the volunteer EMS program at Black Forest Fire and Rescue. She was also involved in the care of four children, whom she loves dearly. She recently received her birth doula certification and looks forward to continuing to enrich her engagement with medicine and compassionate care.
