To work as a research intern with UNC Project Malawi.

Katy earned a BA in psychology and a BA in English. She has been involved with a number of organizations on campus, including the men’s rowing team, student government, and the women’s handball team. She also worked as an expedition leader with Carolina Adventures and for Morse Clinic of Durham as a Gil Intern. She completed a number of research projects as a member of the Health Humanities Lab on campus and focused on researching how to improve community mental health through recreation access. She also had the opportunity to earn her Wilderness EMT certification, as well as a Mental Health First Aid certification while attending UNC. Beyond the campus community, Katy worked for three years as a youth lacrosse coach in Chapel Hill.
