Andrea earned a BS in biology, a BA in medical anthropology, and a minor in mathematics. She was a co-founder of Heels for the Homeless, focusing on supporting individuals in Chapel Hill facing housing insecurity during the Covid-19 pandemic, the president of the local nonprofit organization Dig for Duke, and a Buckley Public Service Scholar. She also conducted cystic fibrosis research in the Kesimer Lab in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Additionally, Andrea tutored middle and high school math students and was an active member of the Triangle Curling Club, where she coached the college curling program. While at Carolina, Andrea explored her passion for tea and tea culture and shared her love for the beverage with those around her.
