Solomon joined the Morehead-Cain Foundation in September 2025 after thirteen years at Duke University’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions, where he led domestic recruitment, chaired admissions committees, and supported international outreach in East and Southeast Asia.
Previously, he worked as a college counselor at the College Preparatory School and held admissions roles at Stanford University and Lewis & Clark College. A proud first-generation graduate, Solomon has seen firsthand the transformative impact of higher education and is excited to help Morehead-Cain cultivate scholars with the potential to lead at UNC–Chapel Hill, in North Carolina, and beyond.
He holds a doctorate in higher education leadership and policy from Vanderbilt University, a master’s in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania, and a bachelor’s in communication from Lewis & Clark College.
Solomon lives in Durham with his husband, Mike. Outside the office, he enjoys running the Al Buehler Trail, traveling to visit friends and family, and trying new Melissa Clark recipes from the New York Times Cooking section.
