Throughout her career, Sarah has worked with nonprofits and institutions of higher education to drive effective storytelling. As Morehead-Cain’s assistant director of marketing and communications, she seeks to amplify diverse student and alumni voices through creative content and inclusive messaging.

Before joining the Foundation in 2020, Sarah served in institutional marketing and communications at the University at Albany, SUNY. With a focus on media relations, she covered research commercialization (innovation) and startups, business, and the arts. She also launched, hosted, and produced the university’s first research-based podcast series and regularly served as a guest lecturer for undergraduate communication courses.

Sarah holds a bachelor’s in multimedia journalism and a minor in Spanish from Berry College in Mount Berry, Georgia, and a master’s in political science from the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy (University at Albany, SUNY) in Albany, New York.

Sarah is a contributing author to Writing & Editing for Digital Media (2019 and 2023 editions), published by Routledge Taylor & Francis. She is an active member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), North Carolina Chapter.
