Kinya Harte Starnes brings more than a decade of experience leading marketing and communications efforts in the nonprofit industry.
Before joining the Foundation in the spring of 2022, Kinya served as the director of communications and marketing for the Lymphoma Research Foundation (LRF), a national cancer research nonprofit based in New York City. She first joined LRF in 2011 as a public affairs coordinator, serving in numerous communications-related positions before assuming the directorship in 2019. She previously worked with the Bowery Residents’ Committee (BRC), and the League of Voluntary Hospitals and Homes of New York. For six years, Kinya managed EXUDE, a web magazine she co-founded in 2006.
Kinya is a member of the Forbes Communications Council, BRC Leadership Council, and Urban League Young Professionals. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University at Buffalo and a master’s degree in journalism and mass communications with a concentration in public relations from Kent State University.
Kinya lives in Morrisville with her husband Marcus, son, and their “Instagram-famous” cat Luxury Moxington.
