Ann Taylor joined the Foundation in the fall of 2022, bringing more than a decade of higher education experience, as well as a strong background in strategic communications and public administration.
From 2017 to 2022, she served as the recruitment and communications coordinator for UNC’s Chancellor’s Science Scholars Program, where she championed inquisitive STEM students from all backgrounds and helped them discover many ways to channel their passions and talents into rewarding careers in research and innovation.
Before moving to Chapel Hill in 2016, Ann Taylor spent 12 years in New York City, where she managed strategic communications and investor relations in the financial services industry before seeking a more personally fulfilling career in higher education. She spent five years advocating for increased college access and connecting students with higher education resources as an admissions counselor for the City University of New York system (CUNY).
Ann Taylor holds a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Alabama and a master’s degree in public administration from CUNY’s Baruch College. She grew up in Alabama, where she developed a life-long love of college football (Roll Tide!), a deep appreciation for fried green tomatoes, and a fascination with snow that 12 years of New York winters could not diminish.
She lives in Chapel Hill with her husband and two young children, and in her free time, Ann Taylor enjoys spending time with family, reading mysteries, and improving her photography skills. She is thrilled to join the Morehead-Cain family and looks forward to helping scholars utilize the many resources provided by the Foundation.
