- Keeping an open mind in your internship search, in relationships, in whatever life has, brings abundant and unimaginable opportunities and experiences.
- But with an open mind, have a baseline, a plan upon which you can fall back and be happy with.
- Consistently check in with yourself and see: what are you good at? What are you bad at? What do you care for, and what do you not care for?
- Lean into your hobbies, especially postgrad.
- Value and rely on your networks in Morehead-Cain and beyond. Continue contributing to them, strengthening them, and you never know where those relationships could take you.
- Dele has been a fantastic host. In all the times we’ve been to L.A. and hung out, she’s shown me the beauty of Los Angeles and that it’s the city for me after I graduate.
- Lastly, Dele gave me the time and created the space for me to ask any questions, talk about anything, judgment free, and also for her to share her life stories and her insights. And that is truly one of the best experiences of my life.
The Morehead-Cain Mentoring Program is designed to leverage the power of the Morehead-Cain network by cultivating connections between scholars and alumni, and providing structure and support to these relationships so they can develop based on shared values and interests. All rising juniors and seniors are eligible to participate.
