Virginie earned a BS with highest distinction in biomedical engineering, with a minor in neuroscience. During her time at Carolina, she spent three years as an undergraduate research assistant in the Applied Biomechanics Lab, where she authored a journal article examining the effects of anticipation of standing surface translations on distal leg muscle excitations. She was awarded the Abrams Scholarship, recognizing her exceptional motivation and productivity in the lab, and presented her research at the American Society of Biomechanics annual conference. Additionally, Virginie served as an undergraduate learning assistant for the course Computer Methods in Biomedical Engineering. Beyond academics, she volunteered as a field biomedical engineering technician in Guatemala and was an active member of the Women’s Water Polo Club, serving as travel chair.
