Immediate Plans

To apply to medical school.

Rotem earned a BS in neuroscience, with minors in medicine, literature and culture, and chemistry. As a recipient of the Lindquist Grant for undergraduate research, she completed an independent project on the effectiveness of adeno-associated viral constructs for use in various neuroscience applications through the NeuroTools Laboratory. After completing a study abroad semester in Australia, Rotem pursued her dream of exploring Oceania before backpacking in the Northern Andes and Patagonia mountains the following semester. She earned her wilderness EMT certification through the National Outdoor Leadership School and, upon her return to Carolina, spent several nights and UNC athletic events working as an EMT for the South Orange County Rescue Squad. Rotem’s time as an editor for the Health Humanities Journal, a volunteer at UNC’s pediatric trauma and burn unit, and a peer tutor through the Learning Center enriched her time at Carolina.
