Hunter earned a BS with highest distinction in business administration and public policy with honors. At Carolina, he was involved with undergraduate student government, serving in the executive branch for two years as the director of campus life and student experiences and as a senior advisor to the student body president. For the past three years, Hunter has also served as the director of communications for Because Baseball—a nonprofit founded by a Morehead-Cain Alumnus with whom he interned during his stop-out year. The Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise named Hunter a Luther Hodges Scholar in 2021 and the John Kasarda Research Excellence Award winner in 2024 for his senior honors thesis in public policy on partisan sentiment toward ranked choice voting. Hunter also loved coaching baseball at South Durham Little League and volunteering with YMCA Youth and Government.
