Michael Lu Zhang

Michael earned a dual BA with highest distinction in economics and philosophy. At Carolina, he championed civic engagement at the Campus Y, hosted debates at the Parr Center for Ethics, and worked actively within the Asian American community on campus, directing a book club, organizing a speaker series. Michael also founded Visibility Forward, an initiative that promotes curriculum development for local secondary schools. He was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and received the Robert E. Bryan Fellowship for public service and the Projects for Peace award. His favorite memories of Carolina will be playing soccer with friends on Hooker Fields during snowfall, sunlight and music on the quad during spring, and the full-blooded rushes to Franklin Street.
