Immediate Plans

To conduct research on addiction medicine strategies in Jamaica as a Fulbright Scholar.

Kyle earned a BA with distinction in medical anthropology with honors, with a minor in chemistry. At Carolina, she founded and led the UNC Students Demand Action chapter, an organization dedicated to gun violence prevention and advancing public safety, was a founding member of the Campus Y Mutual Aid Working Group, which launched two community fridges in Chapel Hill, and chaired the events sector of Carolina Thrift. She was also a stylist for several fashion shows, where she expressed her passion for sustainability. Kyle also worked for the Duke University Traumatic Stress and Health Research Lab in the Department of Psychiatry, where she conducted research about PTSD and insomnia in the veteran population. Her Global Perspective summer and exposure to addiction research, through volunteering with the UNC Alcohol Center and an opioid lab at NYU, led her to focus her senior honors thesis on the experiences of Portuguese people who inject drugs, navigating harm reduction.
