Justin earned a BA with highest distinction in political science with highest honors, a BA with highest distinction in Italian, and a minor in American Indian and Indigenous Studies. At Carolina, he was managing editor of the Carolina Political Review, an Admissions Ambassador, and a research assistant in the Department of Political Science . He led voter registration efforts across campus as a lead civic fellow for YouCanVote, a local voting rights nonprofit. In his senior year, Justin co-taught a C-START class exploring the effects of gerrymandering in American politics. He wrote an honors thesis investigating trends in judicial decision-making in Supreme Court cases ruling on the Voting Rights Act. Justin was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and received the Kimberly Kyser Award for Excellence in Italian, given annually to the most outstanding student in the Italian Department. During his time at Carolina, he ran four half marathons and one full marathon.
