To take a gap year before applying to medical school.

Jill earned a BS in neuroscience and a BA in Hispanic studies with a focus on Spanish for the medical professions, with a minor in chemistry. A passionate leader and advocate, she has actively contributed to campus organizations. Jill serves as vice president of UNC’s chapter of the American Medical Women’s Association and co-editor of IMPULSE, UNC’s neuroscience journal. Her academic journey also included a transformative study abroad experience in the Galápagos Islands, where she immersed herself in Spanish literature and culture, deepening her linguistic and cultural insights.
Beyond academics, Jill has shown unwavering dedication to patient care as a patient care assistant with Care Yaya Health Alliance, primarily supporting dementia and Alzheimer’s patients in the Research Triangle region of North Carolina. Jill aspires to merge her expertise in science, compassion, and service to make a lasting impact in healthcare and beyond.
