Immediate Plans

To teach at a school in New York City before applying to a master’s in social work and public health.

Heidi earned a BS in psychology, with minors in data science and education. For three years at Carolina, she was heavily involved in the Community Empowerment Fund as an advocate and resources team coordinator. On campus, she was an outreach ambassador for the Violence Prevention and Advocacy Services and implemented multiple fundraising events with the Arab Student Organization. Heidi worked part-time with ReadWorks as a marketing and technology intern and was the social media manager for Immigrants Act Now. Academically, she conducted research at the UNC TEACCH Autism Program and in Dr. Mulligan’s cognitive psychology lab. Heidi particularly enjoyed her Global Perspective summer as an English teacher at Hanan Foundation in Istanbul, Turkey.
