Mercy earned a BS in information science with minors in chemistry and health and society. An Honors Carolina student, she has built an academic and professional portfolio focused on global maternal and reproductive health. Mercy is a co-author on an upcoming clinical publication evaluating antenatal education and labor outcomes in Nigeria and assisted with the RESPOND Carolinas Study. As a UNC Birth Partners Doula, she provides compassionate support to birthing individuals throughout their labor journey. At Carolina, she served two years as president of the African Student Association, curated cultural productions to foster belonging, and served as external planning coordinator for the Minority Health Conference. As a resident advisor and community governor, she built the most inclusive international student communities on campus in 2023. In place of Civic Collaboration, Mercy returned to her high school as a developmental consultant to support students from under-resourced backgrounds. This experience grounded her commitment to equitable access and care.
