Evan Maxwell Berkowitch

Evan earned a BS with highest distinction in economics, with minors in neuroscience and data science. At UNC, Evan was very involved with the Community Empowerment Fund, serving as a pod leader since sophomore year. Additionally, he played ultimate frisbee, served as part of the student government’s affordability committee, and contributed to educational programming at UNC Hillel. In 2020, Evan took a stop-out year, spending time exploring multiple start-ups and working in Alaska on a place-based branding project. Later, Evan studied abroad in Cape Town and worked at Rlabs, a social entrepreneurship organization. During his senior year, Evan wrote a senior honors thesis in economics that examined spatial competition in the short-term rental market. Evan was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and is a Buckley Public Service Scholar.
