Immediate Plans

To work as a research fellow at the Gillings School of Global Public Health.

Ellie earned a BSPH in health policy and management, with a second major in biology and a minor in Spanish for the medical professions. At Carolina, she was an application counselor with the Student Health Action Coalition, a member of the leadership team of CompostMates, and an advocate at the Community Empowerment Fund. She was also a founder and director of Dementia Friends at Carolina and received the MacDonald Community Fellowship to expand memory café programming at R Place, a local respite care program. Academically, Ellie was engaged in local and global research, studying palliative care, sexual health, mental health, and mechanisms of disease. Her research culminated in writing an honors thesis evaluating a national respite care model and in receiving the Arnold Kaluzny Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Research. A highlight of her UNC experience was leading backpacking, hiking, and paddling trips through the Carolina Outing Club.
