To pursue a career in documentary photography and videography.

Anna earned a BA with highest distinction in media and journalism and global studies. During her time at UNC, Anna pursued work in visual documentary journalism and earned recognition as the 2024 Hearst Photojournalism National Champion, in addition to awards from NPPA’s 2024 Best of Photojournalism competition, the 78th College Photographer of the Year competition and 2024 Anthem Awards. Anna also worked with The Raleigh News & Observer as their 2023 summer visuals intern, The Chatham News & Record as a freelance photographer (2022–2023), The Daily Tar Heel as a photo editor and staff photographer, and UNC’s chapter of the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) as an officer. In 2023, Anna was also a co-recipient of Hussman’s Beckman Award for Documentary Studies, enabling her to pursue with Aayas Joshi ’26 the documentary project The Last Wild Herd about buffalo management in and around Yellowstone.
