Immediate Plans

To further her skills and experience in transportation planning through an internship at a local Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO). This will be followed by four months at the John C. Campbell Folk School, where she will continue to learn craft skills and music.

Lucia earned a BA with honors in history, with minors in public policy and urban and regional planning. She has spent two semesters interning with the Southern Oral History Project. She also completed a thesis entitled “From the Grassroots to the Globe: Transformation and Change in Medellín’s Comuna 13,” which received honors. As a junior, she served as the communications officer for the Campus Y and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. She went on to become the vice president of Phi Beta Kappa as a senior. During her time at Carolina, she studied German and started learning to play bluegrass guitar.
