Ann’s knowledge of the Morehead-Cain Scholarship selection process runs deep. After serving as an application reader for several years, she joined the Foundation staff during the summer of 2016 to help with a little bit of everything else. From answering excited nominees’ questions to coordinating travel schedules during regional interviews, Ann helps manage countless facets of the selection process.
Education has been a lifelong passion of Ann’s. She started her career in a classroom, teaching students from kindergarten through high school, before she joined the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at UNC-Chapel Hill. She also serves on the Foundation for the Carolinas Scholarship Committee.
Ann earned her bachelor degrees in French and economics from Hollins University and master’s of education from North Carolina State University.
Ann approaches every day as if it’s a new adventure. She loves riding her commuter bus into Chapel Hill from her home in Raleigh, where she enjoys time with her husband, daughter, son, and beloved dog Eloise Elizabeth. Ann is also willing to try almost anything at least once—a trait she credits with helping her discover her newest hobby: pickelball.
