The Regional Interview Experience
It's our opportunity to get to know you better, and your opportunity to discover more about yourself.
Each North Carolina semifinalist will have two twenty-minute interviews consisting of two separate conversations with two distinct committees of two Morehead-Cain regional selection committee members (that’s a lot of two’s).
The topic of the conversation? Easy. It's you.
The Regional Selection Committee
Our regional selection committee members come from all parts of the state and from many different walks of life. Most of this year's committee members have served on Morehead-Cain selection committees in the past. Some, but not all, are UNC and Morehead Alumni.
Their unifying characteristic? They each want to understand more about you. Who you’ve been, who you are, and who you want to become.
Each of the committees will interview approximately twelve prospective Scholars. All of the locations will have at least three committees interviewing at the same time.
Tips and Advice
Wear something that you feel confident and comfortable in. For the most part, men wear coats and ties and women wear suits, dresses, skirts, or nice slacks.
Review your Morehead-Cain application. The committee members will have fully read your application prior to your interviews.
Most importantly, relax and do not over-prepare. You probably know the topic pretty well.
