Dr. Cristy Page can remove the word “interim” from her title. She has been named the William B. Aycock Distinguished Professor and Chair of the UNC Department of Family Medicine.
Page had served in the position on an interim basis since April of last year.
A North Carolina native and lifelong Tar Heel, Page arrived at the University as a Morehead-Cain Scholar. She went on to earn her MD and MPH from Carolina, and later completed her residency at UNC Hospitals.
Page led the UNC Family Medicine Residency Program from 2011 to 2016. Under her leadership, the program earned the top ranking in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.
