Ade Olatunde ’18 knew leaving England to attend college in the U.S. would challenge him. But he’s confident he made the right choice.
Olatunde is one of five British students recently profiled by The Guardian as part of a feature about British teens who chose to study in the U.S.
The freshman from London, who is several weeks into his first semester, said he’s throwing himself into subjects he hasn’t studied in years. And Olatunde said the experience of attending Carolina is providing him perspective he’s not sure he would have developed had he stayed in the U.K.
But it’s not all academics.
“There is another good reason to come to Carolina,” Olatunde said with a smile. “It is hot for a lot longer.”
