Rachel Myrick
Class of 2013

Letter to the Foundation, June 2010

I came in with such a defined area of interests, but the more knowledge I absorb, the more I realize I don’t want to major in anything. Do you think graduate schools would mind if you had, say, seven minors instead?

More.

Introductory Swahili, financial accounting, international security, fiction writing. Odd.

I haven’t determined whether I’m aiming for breadth or depth in my undergraduate education. I officially finished all my General Education requirements, so I have a completely free schedule ahead. The downside to this is a tendency to design courseloads that lack continuity.

Right before fall 2010 registration, a friend peered over at my Carolina Connect Shopping Cart and asked, “What in the world are you trying to major in?” I realized the list included introductory Swahili, financial accounting, international security, and fiction writing. Odd.
