As I’m walking out, I notice there are Pulitzer Prizes hanging on the wall near my desk. I said, “I should probably know who’s won a Pulitzer around here.”
Turns out, the guy whose work I had just cut in half had won a Pulitzer about three years ago.
And I would have liked to have known that before I sent those edits.
