Proof that Voltaire was a genius.
This chair, on display at the Carnavalet museum of Paris history, was apparently designed for philosopher Voltaire at the end of his life, when he was too ill to be mobile. Because Voltaire was determined to continue writing and reading literally until his death, the chair has a book container/table and writing stand, both of which swing out from the chair.
I really want one in my apartment.
