North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper ’79 has appointed Dana O’Donovan ’95 to the N.C. Council for Women.

O’Donovan, who lives in Wilmington, will be an at-large member of the council. She currently works as the managing director of the Monitor Institute by Deloitte. O’Donovan is also a member of the University of North Carolina Kenan Institute’s Board of Mentors, and she served on the Morehead-Cain Scholarship Fund Board from 2011 to 2017.

The N.C. Council for Women advises the governor, the legislature, and state departments on the issues impacting women throughout the state. The council raises awareness of the impact of violence against women, directs available resources for survivors of violence, acts as a resource for local and regional councils and commissions for women, and collaborates with others working on behalf of women.

The council also manages programs that develop self-sufficiency for women and families in transition.
